Redcastle

Just like 'newark' is a common castle name, 'redcastle' seems to pop up an awful lot, what with the red-colored sandstone so common on the coast.

the massive tower is mostly gutted anda wind-worn (the tiny green dot is ME!)

12th century castle

The ruins on this hilltop are enormous -- a huge inner tower and a outer wall, nearly eaten away by the salt spray from the water. The soft red sandstone starts to look like it's been carved away on purpose after while (the same sort of effect can be seen at Tantallon, among others).
