Sogdianus is not reported in any Egyptian sources, but as he was the all-too-brief ruler of Persia, it is common to assume that he also held the title to Egypt, even if he was on the throne for only a few months. He was the illegitimate son of Artaxerxes. Sogdianus had his step-brother, Xerxes II, executed. |
