Titulary
Pedubastis is the first recorded king of the 23rd Dynasty (in any of the cities it spanned) and he is mentioned several times in the inscriptions in the Temple of Amun in Karnak. It is likely that he was the son of the High Priest of Amun in Thebes, Horsiese. It is just as possible that he was the son of Takelot II in the 22nd Dynasty and brother of Sheshonq III. He was co regent with Iuput I after the 15th year of his reign. He appointed one of his sons, Pediamon, a priest in Thebes; another, Pentiefankh was his vizier. |
