Dynasty NotesThe 23rd Dynasty is actually spread out over a number of regions in Egypt, from THebes, to Hermopolis and Heracleopolis and Tanis. THe early part of the Dynasty only held Thebes intermittently. The power shifted form north to south, often having equally important aministrative and political centers in different cities. One "branch" of the government rules from Thebes, and included the following pharaohs: Pedubastis I Overlapping the pharaohs in Thebes were a few, relatively unknown pharaohs in Hermopolis: Thotemhat And, slightly later still, two pharaohs from Heracleopolis: Peftjauwybast Tanis was also the home base for at least a few of the pharaohs of the 23rd Dynasty |
